MEDICAL ASSISTANT
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing hormone replacement therapy, weight loss, and gynecology practice. The Medical Assistant will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care by assisting providers with clinical procedures, patient education, laboratory testing, medication administration, and daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate is professional, proactive, and passionate about helping patients improve their health and quality of life.
Essential Responsibilities
Patient Experience

Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.

Check patients in and out efficiently while verifying demographic and insurance information.

Maintain a positive, patient-focused atmosphere in the reception area.

Address patient questions and concerns while maintaining confidentiality.

Appointment Scheduling
-
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.

Coordinate provider schedules to maximize efficiency.
-
Verify appointment types, required paperwork, and pre-visit instructions.
-
Manage waitlists and appointment reminders.
Communication
-
Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
-
Respond to patient portal messages, emails, and voicemails.
-
Route messages accurately to providers and clinical staff.
-
Communicate laboratory, imaging, or referral instructions as directed.
Administrative Duties
-
Collect and process patient payments and balances.
-
Scan and upload medical records and patient documents into the electronic medical record (EMR).

Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information.
-
Assist with prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
-
Monitor office supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
-
Coordinate incoming mail, faxes, and deliveries.
-
Assist with administrative projects and other duties as assigned.
Patient Care
-
Greet and room patients in a timely, professional manner.
-
Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, current medications, and chief complaints.

Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
-
Assist providers during gynecologic exams, procedures, and treatments.
-
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
-
Educate patients on hormone therapy protocols and treatment plans (handouts available.)
-
Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as ordered.
-
Monitor inventory of hormone medications and clinical supplies.
Medical Weight Loss
-
Record patient weight, body measurements, and progress.
-
Provide patient education regarding nutrition, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
-
Assist with medication management, including injectable medications and patient instruction.
Gynecology
-
Prepare exam rooms and sterile instruments.
-
Assist with Pap smears, biopsies, IUD insertions/removals, endometrial biopsies, colposcopies, and other office procedures.

Sterilize and maintain medical instruments according to infection control guidelines.
Clinical Duties

Perform specimen collection.
-
Administer medications as ordered.
-
Conduct urine testing, pregnancy tests, and other point-of-care testing.
-
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
-
Process prescription refill requests per provider protocol.
-
Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and laboratory results.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent preferred.

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Minimum 1 year of clinical medical assisting experience preferred.

Experience in women's health, gynecology, endocrinology, family medicine, hormone therapy, medical spa/wellness clinic or weight management is highly desirable.

Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Google Workspace.

Strong injection skills preferred.
